What actually decides it
The tradition being followed, the metal in the parure, and where in the sequence the moment falls. Those three decide the face before any product is chosen.
Why black specifically. Black takes light away from underneath the face, so everything above it has to work slightly harder.
This is the one case where a stronger lip or eye is usually correct rather than excessive.
On Moroccan skin, in a Moroccan climate
This is the material no international publisher can write. The gold of Fassi and Rbati work calls for warm bronzes; the silver of Amazigh parure in the Souss calls for cool greys — inverting the general rule for Moroccan skin.
