The exchange, in one sentence
You give your time and your face; you get a full professional application and the photographs. Nobody pays anybody. The work goes into the portfolio, and you walk out with the look on.
That is the entire arrangement. There is no fee, no course to buy, and no obligation afterwards.
You do not need experience
Most people who sit in the chair have never modelled. What is actually required is narrow: arrive with a clean face, be able to sit still for a while, and be comfortable being photographed at close range.
Being photographed is the part people worry about, and it is worth saying plainly that nothing is posted without agreement. If you would rather only detail frames were taken — eyes, lips, hands — that is a normal request and the answer is yes.
Who is specifically needed
A portfolio only represents the people who sat for it, which is why range matters more than any single face. Deeper skin tones are specifically needed, because most makeup teaching material is filmed on fair to light-medium skin and a Moroccan portfolio that reflects only that range is not representative.
Women who wear hijab are specifically needed too: a large share of Moroccan bridal work is on brides in hijab, and it belongs in the book. Mature skin is under-represented in almost every portfolio in the industry, and it photographs beautifully when the base is built for it rather than against it.
What the session involves
About two hours in total — the makeup, then the photographs. You will be asked what you are comfortable with before anything starts, and you can bring someone with you. A friend, a sister, your mother; it is completely normal and it is better if you are comfortable.
Looks vary by what is being shot that week: bridal, soirée, editorial, or a specific technique. If you have a strong preference, say so when you apply.
Does this lead to paid work?
It is not guaranteed and should not be presented as though it were. What is true is that salons, event organisers and brands do ask for faces, and the people who have already sat are the first place anyone looks.

Do I need experience or a portfolio?
No. Most models here have never modelled before. You need to arrive with a clean face and be able to sit still for a while.
What if I do not want my photos posted?
Then they will not be. Say so before anything starts. Detail-only frames — eyes, lips, hands — are an option, and so is no photography at all.
I wear hijab. Can I still take part?

How long does it take?
