Lip brush
A tool changes how much product is deposited and how it sits — which is usually a bigger variable than the product itself.
Written by Lamyaa Aissi, professional makeup artist, Casablanca.
Decide the intensity before the first product goes on, not halfway through.
What actually decides it
Density and shape. A dense brush deposits and packs; a loose one sheers and blends. A damp sponge sheers and presses in; a dry one absorbs and streaks.
What it is. A small firm brush for placing lip colour precisely.
The only reliable way to get a clean edge with a bold shade. Applied straight from the bullet, a strong lip is almost always slightly off at the corners, and that is what reads as amateur at conversational distance.
On Moroccan skin, in a Moroccan climate
In heat, tools matter more rather than less: a damp sponge presses product into the skin where a brush leaves it sitting on top, and what sits on top is what moves first.
What it will not do
No tool rescues the wrong formula. It changes the finish, not the chemistry.
