What is worth it

Pillow Talk

A mid-tone pinky nude lip, sold across liner, lipstick and gloss.

Genuinely well made and the most successful nude of the decade on fair to light-medium skin, where its brown content keeps it off the chalky side. On deeper lips it frequently reads ashy, because a nude is a relationship rather than a colour — it has to sit close to the wearer’s own lip tone and slightly deeper. The version that works here is usually a warmer, deeper cousin, which means ignoring the shade name being asked for.

Magic Cream

Rich moisturiser used widely as a makeup base.

Works as a base on dry and dehydrated skin, where the richness gives foundation something to grip. On oily or coastal-summer skin it is too much, and the base will move by mid-afternoon.

Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray

Setting spray.

Performs, and is worth it on a long event. As with all setting sprays, it sets what is underneath — it does not rescue a base that was wrong to begin with.

How the shades behave on Moroccan skin

The complexion range has broadened but the brand’s instincts remain luminous, which is not neutral across skin types. On skin with visible texture the glow magnifies what it sits on top of. The lip shades are where the range shows its origins most clearly.

The rule that applies to every brand on this page: check undertone, not just depth. Most Moroccan skin is olive or golden, and a neutral or pink-based complexion product turns grey within the hour however precisely the depth matches. Test along the jaw in daylight.

Holding up in a Moroccan climate

Luminous formulas plus coastal humidity is the hardest combination to hold. Glow on the high points, matte everywhere else, and set in thin passes.

The general principle for any long event here: set in thin successive passes rather than one heavy layer. Accumulated product slides in coastal humidity; product laid down thinly stays.

Buying Pillow Talk by name without swatching it against your own lip. It is a relationship, not a universal.
