A couture house whose beauty line is best known in Morocco for its complexion products — its BB and CC creams are among the most searched beauty terms in the country.

Givenchy shows the couture-to-complexion route: the house sells refinement rather than transformation, and the products are built to be worn rather than to be photographed under flash.

What is worth it

CC Cream

Colour-correcting tinted base.

Corrects colour — redness, dullness, uneven tone — rather than covering. If the problem is colour, this is the right category; if it is texture or hydration, a BB cream is the better answer. Neither replaces foundation for a wedding.

BB Cream

Tinted hydrating base.

Evens and hydrates; a light daily base rather than an event product.

Loose four-tone setting powder.

The multi-tone approach corrects and sets at once, which works well on skin with visible unevenness. Test under flash before an event — as with all loose powders, white filler is the risk on deeper skin.

On Moroccan skin

The BB and CC ranges are much shorter than the foundation ranges, so buying blind is a genuine risk — the odds of landing the right shade without testing are poor.

The rule that applies to every house on this page: check undertone, not just depth. Most Moroccan skin is olive or golden, and a neutral or pink-based complexion product greys within the hour however precisely the depth matches. Test along the jaw in daylight, never the wrist.

In a Moroccan climate

These are day products. In a Moroccan summer they will not hold a fourteen-hour event, and they were never built to.

The general principle for any long event: set in thin successive passes rather than one heavy layer. Accumulated product slides in coastal humidity; product laid down thinly stays.
