Tips for flawless skin
Even tone plus visible texture reads as flawless; erased texture reads as a mask.
Written by Lamyaa Aissi, professional makeup artist, Casablanca.
How to do it
- Prepare the skin so the base has something to grip.
- Correct colour before adding coverage.
- Apply base in two thin passes rather than one heavy one.
- Leave some texture visible — skin that looks like skin is the goal.
- Set only where the face moves.
The Moroccan adjustment
In Moroccan daylight a heavy base reads as a mask far more obviously than it does in northern light. Less coverage, better placed, is the local adjustment.
What goes wrong
Pursuing poreless. It photographs as plastic under flash and as a mask in daylight.
