Brow gel
A clear or tinted gel that sets the brow hair in place.
Written by Lamyaa Aissi, professional makeup artist, Casablanca. Part of the Brows guide.
When to use it
Last, over pencil or pomade, or alone on already-full brows.
On Moroccan skin, in a Moroccan climate
On dense Moroccan brows, a clear gel alone is often the entire brow routine — the shape is already there.
The rule that runs through every product on this site: check undertone, not just depth. Most Moroccan skin is olive or golden, and a neutral or pink-based product greys within the hour however precisely the depth matches. And for any long event, set in thin successive passes rather than one heavy layer — accumulated product slides in coastal humidity, while product laid down thinly stays.
What it will not do
Filling gaps. It holds hair; it does not add it.
The most common mistake
Using a tinted gel that is too cool. It greys against olive skin.
