How to make lips look fuller
Overline by a fraction of a millimetre, and place light at the centre of the lip.
Written by Lamyaa Aissi, professional makeup artist, Casablanca.
How to do it
- Line just outside your natural border at the cupid's bow and the centre of the lower lip only.
- Do not extend the corners — that reads as drawn immediately.
- Fill with liner, then colour.
- Add a small point of gloss or light shade at the centre of both lips.
The Moroccan adjustment
On pigmented lips, correct the lip tone first or the overlined edge shows as a colour change rather than a fuller shape.
What goes wrong
Overlining the whole lip evenly. It makes the mouth look larger rather than fuller, and it is visible at conversational distance.
