Blotting Spray
Because paper makes physical contact with a finished face, and on a set base it lifts as much as it absorbs.
What is a blotting spray and why not just use paper?
A liquid blotting spray absorbs surface oil on contact and resets shine without disturbing anything underneath. No pressing, no smudging, no moment where you lift the paper and take the foundation with it.
It also beats powder for a third or fourth touch-up, because it does not accumulate. By hour eight, added powder is what makes makeup look old.
How to use it, step by step
- This is a mid-event product. It lives in the touch-up bag, not in the application sequence.
- Spray, wait, and do not blot. Touching the face afterwards undoes the point of it.
- Aim at the T-zone and the sides of the nose. Everywhere else usually needs nothing.
- Set the face properly first — over an unset cream base it is unpredictable.
The mistakes that cost you
- Using it as a setting spray at the end of application.
- Blotting with a tissue immediately after spraying.
- Spraying the whole face when only the nose was shining.
In Morocco specifically
The makeup artist is usually long gone by the time touch-ups are needed. A product the client can use herself, that cannot go wrong and does not build up over the night, is worth more at 2am than anything in the main kit.
