Camouflage Cream

What is camouflage makeup and when do you need it?
Camouflage cream differs from concealer in pigment load and staying power. It is formulated to cover conditions rather than blemishes, and to stay put through a full day once powdered. The finish is drier than a greasepaint, which is what makes it hold on areas that flex and move.
Multi-shade palettes exist because no single shade will match. You mix on the back of the hand until it disappears.
How to use it, step by step
- Colour-correct first — orange or red under blue-toned tattoos and bruising, green under angry redness.
- Mix two or three shades on the back of the hand rather than using one straight.
- Press it in with a dense flat brush or a fingertip. Do not buff.
- Set with a translucent fixing powder and leave it a full minute before brushing off the excess.
- For a very long day, a second thin layer over the set first layer holds better than one thick one.
- Remove with an oil cleanser or cold cream — never micellar water alone.
The mistakes that cost you
- Skipping the correction step and using more skin-tone product instead.
- Buffing, which removes what you just placed.
- Under-powdering, which is why it transfers.
