Make Up For Ever

Pro Compact Powder

Make Up For Ever was founded in Paris in 1984 by a working makeup artist for working makeup artists. This compact is the setting and touch-up workhorse of the kit.

What it is

Make Up For Ever's whole reason for existing is professional use — it began as a supplier to theatre, dance and film in Paris before it ever reached a consumer counter, and the pro line still carries that DNA: neutral finishes, no shimmer where shimmer would betray you on camera, and formulas built to be layered.

A pressed compact does two jobs a loose powder cannot. It travels without exploding through a kit bag, and it can be handed to a client for touch-ups during the evening without her needing a brush.

Used over cream products — the Supracolor, the Dermacolor, the cream bronzers — it is the step that converts everything underneath from movable to fixed.

On the packaging. Read off the case: “MAKE UP FOR EVER / PROFESSIONAL PARIS” in the brand's black logotype on the nude compact. The specific product reference on this unit is not legible in the kit photograph — the case is unmarked on the visible face — so it is described here by what it is rather than by a SKU we would be guessing at.

How it is used in this kit

  • Set cream products with pressed powder and a puff, not a brush. A brush drags cream underneath; a puff presses powder on top of it.
  • Only set where the face moves or shines: centre of the forehead, nose, chin, under the eyes. Leave the cheekbones alone.
  • Give it to the client in her handbag for the evening. A compact she can use herself is worth more than a perfect finish that degrades by 10pm with no way to fix it.

Why it earns its place in Morocco

A Moroccan wedding is a long night with several outfit changes and a lot of hugging. The client will need to touch up and you will not be there. A pressed compact she can carry is the difference between makeup that lasts and makeup that only started well.

Every stockist worth knowing

Let's clear one thing up before you spend anything: there is no Sephora in Morocco. Not at Morocco Mall, not in Rabat, not in Marrakech — whatever your cousin's friend swears she saw. Anything sold here under that name arrived in somebody's suitcase. What we do have is Yan&One, Faces and Marionnaud if you want to swatch in person, and Zwine, Beauty Corner or Haytam if you want it at your door by Thursday.

Strong on prestige: Charlotte Tilbury, Huda Beauty, Rare Beauty, Dior, YSL, Make Up For Ever, Benefit, Pat McGrath, Chanel, Guerlain, Embryolisse. Pay the courier at the door — useful if you would rather not put a card into an unfamiliar site.

The 3,500 m² flagship at Morocco Mall in Casablanca is the largest beauty floor in the country — 14 sections, testers on everything, and staff who will let you swatch properly. Moroccan-owned (Aksal group, founded by Salwa Idrissi Akhannouch). Go here when shade-matching matters more than price.

I buy from these shops myself, so the prices above are real ones from August 2026 rather than converted foreign RRPs. They do move. And if a price looks too good — 70 % under everyone else — that is not a bargain in this market, it is a counterfeit. Here is how to tell.

Questions

Is Make Up For Ever available in Morocco?

Yes. Beauty Corner and Glamour Makeup both carry the brand with nationwide delivery, ChikShop imports it, and Yan&One stocks it in store at Morocco Mall.

Pressed or loose powder for setting?

Loose gives a finer, more invisible set and is better for baking. Pressed travels, survives a kit bag, and can be handed to the client. A working kit carries both; a personal kit really only needs pressed.
