Dermacolor Camouflage Cream Palette

What it is

Dermacolor is Kryolan's camouflage line — developed for medical and corrective use rather than for general makeup. It covers vitiligo, port-wine stains, surgical scarring, severe hyperpigmentation and tattoos, and it is water-resistant once powdered.

This unit is the multi-shade palette format: several cream shades pressed into a single round tin, so an artist can mix a custom match on the back of the hand rather than carrying eight separate pots. The Kryolan theatrical mask logo sits in the centre of the pan.

The pigment load is higher than Supracolor's and the finish is drier, which is what makes it hold on areas that flex and move.

Specification

On the packaging. Identified from the Kryolan theatrical-mask logo pressed into the centre of the pan and the multi-shade cream layout in the round metal tin. The specific palette reference number is not legible in the kit photograph.

How it is used in this kit

• Mix on the back of the hand, not on the face. Two or three shades blended together will match where one shade alone will not.
• Colour-correct first: orange or red under the skin tone for blue-toned tattoos and bruising, green for angry redness.
• Press it in with a dense flat brush or a fingertip. Do not buff — buffing removes what you just laid down.
• Set with a translucent fixing powder and leave it for a full minute before brushing off the excess.

Why it earns its place in Morocco

Traditional Moroccan and Amazigh tattoos on the chin, hands and forearms come up constantly in bridal work — sometimes the client wants them shown, sometimes covered for a particular look or a particular family. Camouflage cream is the only thing that covers a decades-old indigo tattoo cleanly under photography lights.
