What it is
#FauxFilter is Huda Kattan's full-coverage foundation — the product that made the brand's reputation for base. The current formula is the Luminous Matte version: genuinely full coverage, but with a soft-focus finish rather than a chalky flat one, which is where the “faux filter” name comes from.
It matters here for a specific reason. Huda Beauty built its shade range from a Dubai-based, Middle-Eastern-first perspective, which means the olive, golden and warm-deep undertones common across Morocco are properly represented instead of being an afterthought at the bottom of the range.
It is a slightly frosted rectangular bottle with a black cap — plastic, not glass, despite how it looks and how much people complain that it should be.

On the packaging. Identified from the packaging in the kit photograph — the frosted rectangular bottle with HUDA BEAUTY set vertically in the brand's own typeface and the squared black cap. The individual shade name on this unit is not legible in the photo.
How it is used in this kit
- Less than you think. It is one of the most pigmented foundations on the market; start with half a pump and build only where it is needed.
- Work in sections and blend fast — full-coverage formulas set quickly and are unforgiving if you leave an edge.
- Use it as a spot base, not a full base, on clients who only need coverage in the centre of the face. A lighter foundation everywhere plus #FauxFilter on the problem areas beats full coverage across the whole face.
- Set it. This one earns its powder in a way the Dior bases do not.
Why it earns its place in Morocco
For heavily photographed events — and Moroccan weddings are photographed relentlessly — full coverage that does not turn grey or ashy on deeper skin is worth carrying. The regional shade range is the reason it is in a Casablanca kit rather than a Western full-coverage equivalent.
