CC cream
A colour-correcting tinted base, aimed at redness, dullness and uneven tone.
Written by Lamyaa Aissi, professional makeup artist, Casablanca. Part of the Foundation & Base guide.
When to use it
When the problem is colour rather than texture. If the skin is even but dry, a BB cream is the better answer.
On Moroccan skin, in a Moroccan climate
Useful on skin with visible redness or unevenness. On olive skin, check that the corrective tint does not push the base cool — a cool CC cream greys.
The rule that runs through every product on this site: check undertone, not just depth. Most Moroccan skin is olive or golden, and a neutral or pink-based product greys within the hour however precisely the depth matches. And for any long event, set in thin successive passes rather than one heavy layer — accumulated product slides in coastal humidity, while product laid down thinly stays.
What it will not do
Full coverage. It corrects; it does not conceal.
The most common mistake
Layering it over a colour corrector. Both do the same job and the result is heavy and flat.
