Stick foundation
A cream formula in stick form, offering targeted buildable coverage.
Written by Lamyaa Aissi, professional makeup artist, Casablanca. Part of the Foundation & Base guide.
When to use it
On location and when travelling, because it does not spill and doubles as base and spot coverage. Useful when speed matters.
On Moroccan skin, in a Moroccan climate
Very practical for on-location bridal work across Casablanca, where a kit is carried up stairs and set up in a room that was not designed for it.
The rule that runs through every product on this site: check undertone, not just depth. Most Moroccan skin is olive or golden, and a neutral or pink-based product greys within the hour however precisely the depth matches. And for any long event, set in thin successive passes rather than one heavy layer — accumulated product slides in coastal humidity, while product laid down thinly stays.
What it will not do
Sheer, natural finishes. A stick lays down more product than a liquid, so it starts heavier than most people want.
The most common mistake
Dragging it straight down the face. Warm it on the hand and press it in, or it sits in stripes.
